Here at YWCA Volunteer Services, we’re searching for a new AmeriCorps member to join our team! Through the Washington Service Corps, we have designed a service position that combines work at our Volunteer Services office, as well as the YWCA GirlsFirst program.

YWCA GirlsFirst is a leadership program for 9th grade girls of color attending local Seattle high schools. GirlsFirst alumni are offered different intern opportunities at leading Seattle-area organizations and businesses, as well as being paired with a professional mentor.

Some highlights of the member duties are: developing volunteer recruitment strategies for underserved, marginalized, lower socioeconomic communites and communites of color; participating in community and agency events; connecting with GirlsFirst families and girls; and recruiting and training GirlsFirst mentors.
